Our Needs Assessment revealed that many parents from our backgrounds are unable to support children with their education. This behaviour impact negatively on their children’s school performance. We understand the importance of education, and therefore believe that a proper quality education gives children a great head start. We are supporting disadvantaged children and young people to improve their education through access to homework scheme and supplementary education
- Our supplementary education and Homework Club has run for the height consecutive year as it started in November 2011, concentrating on helping children with Key Stages 1, 2 & 3 in English and Maths.
- During this financial year, the scheme benefited mostly from income generated by our musical instrument some contributions from members.
- The scheme has provided a great support to numerous children and young people at home thanks to our online resources for maths.
- The scheme offered opportunity to young people, especially those in years 5 and 6, and others as well to improve their standards in maths and English. .
Most of the young people (95%) who have been attending our homework club since 2011 are doing well, which is very encouraging for us to carry on delivering this activity.
